Long Term GICs

Long term GICs are available for terms of 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5 years in non-registered and registered products.

Non Registered GICs offer interest payments annually, semi-annually, quarterly, monthly or compounded annually or semi-annually.

Registered GICs usually compound annually, although some companies may offer the semi-annual option.

The minimum deposit amount varies among the different companies that offer this product.

Special Terms
GICs are occasionally offered in terms of 15, 18, 30 or 42 months.

Short Term Deposits

Short-term deposits are available for non-registered products for terms of 30 to 364 days. Some companies offer short-term RRSP products in terms ranging from 90 to 364 days.
